Mounjaro Injection

Maximum Quantity Allowed:

Mounjaro UK (Tirzepatide):
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is an injectable prescription medication designed to aid weight loss in adults dealing with obesity or overweight conditions. It is most effective when combined with a low-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Mounjaro operates as both a GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) agonist and a GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide), targeting hormone receptors to diminish hunger sensations. This results in a quicker and longer-lasting feeling of fullness, reducing food intake and promoting weight loss.

What is the Mounjaro Injection?

What is Mounjaro Used For?

Mounjaro is prescribed for weight loss, which should be accompanied by a balanced diet and regular exercise. It is typically used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. This medication is recommended for individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher or a BMI of 27 or higher if there are associated medical conditions such as asthma or high blood pressure. The active ingredient in Mounjaro reduces appetite, curbs cravings, and slows gut motility, helping you to eat less.

How Does Mounjaro Work?

Mounjaro is a weekly weight loss injection that contains Tirzepatide, which activates two hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). These hormones mimic the effects of natural hormones in the body that regulate sugar levels and increase energy expenditure. This reduces cravings and hunger, making you feel full faster and for longer periods, thereby helping you to eat less and lose weight. Tirzepatide, when combined with diet and exercise, is more effective than other GLP-1 medications alone.

How to Use Mounjaro for Weight Loss in the UK

Mounjaro UK is available in a KwikPen device, which contains 4 weekly doses. It is administered once weekly, at any time of the day, with or without meals. The injection is given into the fatty tissue just under the skin, typically in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, with the injection site rotating as needed.

Follow the instructions provided in the package leaflet carefully. Mounjaro should be used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. The starting dose is 2.5 mg once weekly, with the dose increasing every 4 weeks over 16 weeks to a maintenance dose of up to 15 mg once weekly, depending on tolerability and effectiveness. The 15 mg maintenance dose offers the greatest weight loss, but you may continue on a lower dose if the higher dose is not well-tolerated.

Mounjaro Alternatives

Mounjaro is a UK weight loss injection similar to Wegovy, also a once-weekly treatment that acts on GLP-1 receptors to help reduce appetite and cravings. Orlistat capsules are another approved weight loss treatment in the UK, often referred to as “fat loss pills,” which work by reducing fat absorption in the gut.

Conclusion

For those considering weight loss treatments, Mounjaro UK presents a promising option. Always seek medical advice to ensure its suitability and effectiveness for your specific health needs.
